This evening's event, where we unveiled the Leyburn Town Plan Report, went very well. A good number of interested residents came to collect their copies, hear a short speech from Ian, and join us in a glass of prosecco (soft drinks also available for drivers, of course) and a piece of cake and homemade shortbread biscuits.
Copies will be delivered to every house in Leyburn, and in bulk to surrounding villages, as soon as we can (if you can help with distribution please contact us). You can also pick up a copy from Thornborough Hall, TOSH (The Old School House/Leyburn Arts and Community Centre) and other places.
You can also download a PDF by clicking HERE
Thanks again to everyone who has supported us. Now to make it happen!
We're almost there. The plan will be at the printers soon and we'd like to invite YOU to a launch event on Tuesday 12th June at Thornborough Hall, Moor Road, Leyburn between 7pm and 8pm.
Get one of the first copies! Read resident, youth and business views. Check out the action plans.
We hope to see you there.
We had a great response to our surveys and we are now starting to work through all the information and views you gave us. There is a lot of data to get through and we will be identifying the areas people felt most strongly about, which will help us to put together an initial list of what we can do about them.
Look out for notification of an event we will be holding at Thornborough Hall where you can help us choose what you think matters most to you. We will then be able to list your choices in order of importance and these will form the heart of the Plan, which we hope to publish in the summer.
Here is a taster of some answers we have received to the question, What Do You Like About Living In Leyburn?
“An attractive market town in a glorious location with good shops and friendly people. The small scale of the town allows you to get to know people but it is still large enough to support businesses”
“It’s a friendly place”
“There are plenty of shops and my friends live there”
Thank you, everyone, for taking time to participate in our Town Plan Survey. Do keep in touch through our Facebook page!
Leyburn Town Plan Steering Group
We heard from Leyburn’s residents. We heard from Leyburn's youth. Now we have heard from Leyburn’s business people.
We're looking forward to collating all the info from all three surveys and seeing what you like (and don't like) about Leyburn.
Watch this space!
There are several places round town where you can deliver your completed paper survey – Campbell's, Co-op, Hewson's, Kirkwood Hall, Leyburn Medical Practice and the Town Council Office or Library. There is a sign in the window of Thornborough Hall and a ribbon-bedecked box inside waiting for yours!
Has your copy of the survey arrived yet? If not, it will be with you soon. Mine came today. If you complete the paper version, you can drop off the form into one of the post boxes at several drop-off points – boxes are at Campbell's, Co-op, Hewson's, Kirkwood Hall, Leyburn Medical Practice and the Town Council Office or Library.
The online survey is now live and linked to this post. Open it and select the link (sorry no longer available). Paper copies will also be delivered door to door over the next few days. If more than one person per houshold wants to complete the survey, because you have different views for example, make use of both paper and online versions. However you complete the survey, make your views known – we're waiting for them!
The paper surveys have been printed and delivered to us. This photo shows just some of them! The printing looks great. It's only a few days until they are distributed, one for each household. You can also fill in the survey online, a link will be posted here at the right time.
Today is August 29th and it's only 5 days until the Leyburn Town Plan Survey is out.
Keep calm – don't panic!
It will be exciting to see people's views so we hope you'll fill in your survey and tell us what you think.
